Global partner for the world of fashion
The Berlin fashion show of star designer Michalsky will be broadcast by DHL exclusively via Livestreamon dhl-brandworld.com
As the official express and logistics partner, DHL has been busy around the world on behalf of the IMG Fashion Weeks. The series of renowned fashion trade shows takes place every year in ten different countries on four continents.
This year, the IMG Fashion Weeks is underway with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin (July 07 - 10, 2010), showcasing the current collections of well-known designers for the sixth time in the German capital. The show from Michael Michalsky, one of the most successful German fashion designers, is treated as one of the highlights in Berlin. The star designer presents his fashion collection at his "StyleNite" show, which is broadcast live on the internet by DHL via Livestream on July 09.
The close cooperation between Michael Michalsky and DHL was also reflected in a joint advertising campaign, for which he even designed an exclusive "DHL collection". But don't look for fine materials here. Instead, the designer has used designer packing paper, truck blueprints and packaging materials for his haute couture à la DHL.
For some time now DHL has had a successful working relationship on the American market with IMG Fashion, the organizer of the fashion event. "The good work we have done together in the U.S., the worldwide network, and the incredible logistics competence in the apparel industry were decisive for selecting DHL as the official logistics partner," said Peter Levy, Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion. "We are also, of course, pleased to have acquired another top brand as sponsor for our Fashion Weeks."
"A perfect platform"
DHL's logistics experts have worked for years developing tailor-made transport solutions for world-famous fashion labels such as "House of Fraser", one of the largest fashion department stores in the UK. "IMG Fashion Weeks are a perfect platform where we can demonstrate our expertise, especially in this sophisticated area of the textile industry," said Wolfgang Giehl, Director of Corporate Brandmarketing at Deutsche Post DHL.
"DHL's regular services cover the entire logistics value chain of the fashion industry - from material purchasing and the sample business to quality control of production and direct delivery to the boutiques of international fashion companies." During the Fashion Weeks, DHL will welcome guests in its own lounge or in the VIP-Section and will have its own stand at the events.
